Fell & Sell Decoration Bonuses: Stacking, Comfort & Prestige
What is confirmed about decoration stacking, the demo-era max-bonus change, Comfort, Prestige, and why old stacking advice can now be wrong.

This is one of the first verified gameplay-search questions around Fell & Sell: players are asking whether the same decoration bonus can stack with itself.
The clean answer is: stacking exists, but old infinite-stacking behavior is not a safe assumption. During the pre-release balance period, players reported large drops in Comfort and Prestige after a “max bonus” change. A developer replied that unlimited HP/damage stacking broke balance and said some furniture might eventually get different diminishing-return behavior.
So if you are reading an older demo guide that says “just spam the same torch or skeleton forever,” treat it as old-build advice.
Current-build boundary (checked Aug 29): the developer discussion below explains why anti-infinite-stacking limits were considered before release. It is not a current full-release table of furniture caps, so this guide does not convert it into one.
What is definitely confirmed
The official store page says decorations can provide:
- permanent combat buffs for the next dungeon run;
- increased shop sales appeal.
The Demo 2.0 notes also state that Comfort affects the number of customers visiting your store neighborhood. Steam achievements confirm Comfort milestones at 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10, and Prestige milestones at the same broad levels.

What is not confirmed yet
We do not have a current-build, authoritative table for:
- the cap for every individual furniture type;
- exact diminishing-return breakpoints;
- the exact Prestige contribution per object;
- the exact sales multiplier from Comfort or Prestige;
- whether every furniture family follows the same stacking rule.
That is why this page avoids made-up percentages.
The first useful stacking test
For one furniture type, record the displayed Comfort, Prestige and combat-related values after one placement. Add one duplicate, record only the delta, then remove it to confirm the change reverses. Repeat after a public patch. Until that log has current-build rows, the pricing guide and crafting guide should be used for decisions, not as proof of a stacking formula.
A practical layout rule while the numbers settle
Do not build a room around one bonus unless you have tested that the next duplicate still changes the stat you care about. Once a repeated item stops producing the same value, diversify.
If your shop looks worse after replacing duplicates with different furniture but your stats improve, that is not necessarily a bug; it can be the result of anti-stacking balance.

Comfort versus Prestige
They are related to the shop, but do not treat them as synonyms. The demo notes explicitly tie Comfort to customer traffic. The official economy description separately names Prestige as a factor in pricing. Until exact formulas are verified, use them as two different levers:
- Comfort: how attractive/active the customer environment is.
- Prestige: part of how strongly the shop can support pricing and progression.
Why this page needs frequent updates
This system changed immediately before release, and the developer publicly said they were still thinking about different caps and diminishing returns. That makes this one of the most patch-sensitive pages on the site. Check the verification date at the top before copying a layout from an old video.
